Hey you all! So this week has just been a normal week at the MTC. This Tuesday we had a member of the 70 speak to us for our Devotional. Elder Rasband and his wife spoke. They always have such great messages!! Elder Rasband said something at the end of his talk that really hit me. He said that when he was being interviewed to become one of the Quorum of the 70 by President Hinkley, President Hinkley asked him, "Is your testimony still as strong as it was when you were on your mission?" That question is always going to stay in my heart. After my mission I am always going to ask myself that question. A lot of missionaries left the MTC this week and a whole bunch just came in. I think around 800 missionaries entered the MTC yesterday, so its not as empty again. The MTC food is decent still. I get a burger almost at least once a day but the food is only a little warm and not freshly cooked (like off the grill), but what can you expect when you gotta feed so many missionaries. I've only gained 3 pounds which is pretty funny. Its funny and cool when I see people that I know here. The language is going pretty well so far. I have experienced some miracles with teaching even though we are teaching fake, practice investigators (our teachers). I have been blessed in some of my lessons with the gift of tongues and its amazing. Praying before every lesson is so essential as a missionary. It helps you to have a clear mind, be at peace and not be nervous, say some things that you didn't even realize you knew, etc. I have a strong testimony of the power of prayer and it is ever growing. I am so happy that I am able to serve the Lord. I was going to bear my testimony in Ilonggo but I left my notebook that I wrote it in, in my room, so next week I will! I could do it now but it wouldn't be as good. I don't really have anymore pictures to share right now because its the MTC but once I hit the Philippines get ready! Ahhh, I'm so excited! Have a great week all of you and remember to think of the sacrifices that Jesus Christ did for us especially around this special time of the year.
-Love Elder Erik Turley
