Week 3 Transfer 1 (Moises Padilla)

This week we had a typhoon hit us Saturday night. It was pretty crazy, but not really. It wasn't a strong super typhoon, but I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking it was flooding. Haha. Anyways, this week has been kind of a typical week. I pushed through a whole day while feeling really sick to my stomach and having a headache, but I was blessed to not have that sickness anymore the next day because I didn't give up.

We were able to teach a ton of lessons and we found some new members who are inactive for us to fellow-ship and help come back to church. Yesterdayafter church we went to San Benito in Moises Padilla and taught some of the member families there. I don't know why but depending on the person and I have no clue what it is about the person, I'm either really quiet or talkative the the most extent to what I can say. But the Duames family; we taught them and then came back later and were just talking to them and I was able to talk more with Brother Duames because we had a little bit of time, but I was able to get to know him a tiny bit and him get to know me a little bit. Its really hard to fellowship the members when you can't say that much to them. I just really like listening but I know that I have to work on making tons of mistakes. We haven't gone over to San Benito much so that was nice.

Later in the day we went to the Abagon family and taught sister Abagon and one of her daughters. It was confusing because sister Abagon is like a grandma but she has two daughters who are high school college age. I thought they were her granddaughters, but Elder Gorospe answered that question.

I ask tons of questions but I know that, that is good. But, also I know that you can't ask a ton because you only know so much and you have to figure things out yourself. Just from taking the bus to email today I realized that things really will get there through repetition. Things are so crazy but awesome.

On Saturday we had a family home afternoon event for the Branch members and it was actually a super good show up. Tonight we are having another one but its actually on a Monday night. Yay! But anyways, we are hoping that a few of the Priesthood will show up. That is one of the hardest things about being here for Elder Gorospe and I, I would say. Our area's priesthood is so inactive or they have to work on Sunday (which they don't have too). I know they are poor but they don't totally realize the blessings that they would gain from going to church on Sunday and paying tithing. They are lacking on knowledge but that is why we are here!

I know that this Gospel is true and I know that this is going to be the hardest two years for me but I know that if I have trust in the Lord and push through it everything will be fine. If you have trust in the Lord you will  be blessed through your faithfulness in knowing that you will receive those blessings.

Have a great week!
